General Information

North Platte schools are small enough to provide a personal touch through a student-centered faculty, yet have an ideal size and location to provide the necessary resources to offer excellent educational standards for students.  The North Platte R-I School District is located in northeast Platte County and southeast Buchanan County.  The district covers 110 square miles and includes the towns of Camden Point, Dearborn, and Edgerton.  The district has a student enrollment of approximately 640.

What Parents Want Award, 2010
North Platte is one of 28 Missouri schools to receive recognition from SchoolMatch®, a national firm specializing in rating K-12 schools by using auditable data.  The SchoolMatch "What Parents Want" award program recognizes school systems that are making noteworthy efforts to meet the needs of the clientele they serve.

Accredited with Distinction in Performance 2007-2011
The district continues to achieve the highest academic rating given by the state

2006 was the first year of the fourth 5 year assessment cycle done by the state.  During this annual assessment, the state evaluates the educational program of the district to determine how it is performing.  In the previous three cycles the district received the highest academic rating given by the state.  Of the 524 school districts in the state, North Platte was one of only five schools to achieve the highest academic rating in all three previous cycles.

2000-2005
In the third 5 year assessment cycle by the state, each year the district received the highest recognition of "Distinction in Performance."

1999
After the Missouri School Improvement 5 year program review was completed the district received the designation Accredited with Distinction in Performance.  Less than six percent of schools in the state of Missouri received this designation in the second five year assessment cycle.

Governor's Choice Award, 1998
Governor Mel Carnahan started this award in 1998 to recognize four outstanding schools annually. North Platte received the honor in October, 1998.
