NPI Recognized as One of Missouri's Best

By Derek Colburn

September 03, 2010

For the third year in a row, NPI has been recognized as one of the top fundraising schools in the state by the American Heart Association.  This last school year, NPI students raised $3.022.90, which was a terrific accomplishment for fewer than 170 students.

North Platte Intermediate has participated in Hoops for Heart for three years, and each year it has had one of the the highest totals for schools in the state in regard to funds raised.  The American Heart Association is the recipient of these funds which are used for research, education, and treatment for those with heart disease.

The faculty and students at NPI recognize this as a great achievement for the school and feel privileged to have the opportunity to participate in this special program.  We look forward to participating in the event again this year as March Madness and college basketball draw closer.

North Platte Intermediate will be awarded with a plaque on November 13 at the Missouri Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance Convention hosted at the Lodge of the Four Seasons.  Once again, we are excited about this honor and are grateful to have the opportunity to help others.  We thank the students, staff, and our community for their support of our efforts.
