High School
Book Drive
by Caleb Jones
December 21, 2009
From the beginning of October through December 14, 2009 Mrs. Kirschner's freshmen and junior classes held a book drive. Children and adult books were donated. The only qualification was that they had to be new or gently used. Over 100 new books were donated to the Salvation Army for their annual Toy Drive. Also, more than 300 gently used books were distributed to two different shelters.
"I felt like a champion... for helping those less fortunate than myself," junior Sam Enyeart said.
"I felt good inside for being able to help out those who are unable to buy books of their own," freshman Cody Lee said.
