Freshmen Lose to Lathrop

by Darian Cockriel

February 17, 2010

On February 4 in the high school gym the freshman boys played the Lathrop Mules. Taylor Duncan started the game off with a two point shot. At the end of the first quarter, the Mules had the lead with a score of 12-5. In the second quarter, Joseph Gant scored six points, making him the top scorer of the night.

"I thought I played a pretty good game," Gant said.

At the end of the second, the score was 28-17 with the Mules still in the lead. In the third quarter Lathrop kept the lead with a score of 34-25. Lathrop came up on top with a win against the Panthers. The final score was 39-29.

"I think we could have done better," Ryan Willy said.

Before the game the boys had to get motivated and ready to play. They had to think about how the game was going to go.

"I listened to music to get focused," Kameron Poepping said. " I was thinking how we need to beat Lathrop as pay back to losing to them earlier in the season."
